Beyond the Plunger

Most toilet clogs clear with a plunger. When yours doesn't, something's either stuck deep in the trap or the problem is further down the line. Either way, forcing it can make things worse—and nobody wants an overflowing toilet.

We have the tools to clear what a plunger can't: closet augers that reach through the toilet's internal trap, main line snakes for problems past the toilet, and the experience to know which approach works best.

Common Toilet Problems

Simple Clogs

Too much paper, waste that won't go down, the occasional foreign object. Our closet auger can usually break through or grab whatever's stuck.

Recurring Clogs

If your toilet clogs weekly, there's a reason. Could be a partially obstructed drain line, a toilet with poor flush performance, or something stuck in the trap that catches everything else.

Slow Flush

Water goes down eventually but without force. Often a partial clog in the trap or drain line. Sometimes mineral buildup in the rim jets or a venting issue.

Toilet Won't Flush at All

Water rises and doesn't go anywhere. Complete blockage somewhere in the system. Stop flushing and call—the problem isn't going away on its own.

Gurgling or Bubbling

Air bubbles coming up through the water when other fixtures drain? Usually indicates a venting problem or partial blockage in the main line.

"Kids flushed a toy down the toilet. Tried plunging forever, made it worse. They came out, used some kind of camera thing, spotted it, and fished it out. Toilet works fine now. Worth every penny to not have to replace the whole toilet." — The Martinez Family, Canton

Our Approach

Closet Auger

Specialized tool designed specifically for toilets. The flexible cable navigates the toilet's trap to break up or retrieve blockages without damaging the porcelain.

Drain Snake

For clogs past the toilet in the drain line. We may pull the toilet to access the drain directly for better reach and effectiveness.

Camera Inspection

When we need to see what's going on—stuck objects, line condition, location of the blockage. Eliminates guesswork.

Old Toilets: If your toilet is from the early low-flow era (1990s), it might just be a poor performer. Those first-generation 1.6 gallon toilets often didn't flush well. Modern low-flow toilets work much better. Sometimes replacement makes more sense than constant unclogging.

When to Call

"Toilet in our older home was always sluggish. They snaked the line and found roots in the connection to the main sewer. Cleared them out and now it flushes like it should. Didn't need a new toilet after all." — Susan P., North Canton
